ABD'li bilgisayar üreticisi Hewlett Packard (HP) yakın gelecekte hayatımıza girmesi muhtemel yeni nesil teknolojileri tanıttığı Lab University toplantılarında, masaüstü bilgisayar kavramını değiştirecek yeni bir uygulamayı gösterdi.
Masanın üzerinin tamamıyla bilgisayar ekranına dönüştüğü yeni ürün ile, bilgisayar programlarını çalıştırmak, internete bağlanmak, çekilen fotoğraf ve videoları izlemek mümkün. Tablet PC'lerde bulunan dokunmatik ekran özelliğinin kullanıldığı 'masaPC'de kullanıcı fotoğrafları gösterirken, ekran üzerinde parmak hareketleriyle farklı yerlere taşıyıp, istediği boyutta görüntüleyebiliyor. MasaPC, içerisinde bir bilgisayarın çalışması için gerekli tüm donanım ve yazılım parçalarını barındırıyor. Masanın kenarında cihazın kullanılması için bir de klavye bulunuyor.
HP, şu anda tüm özellikleriyle tamamen çalışan bu ürünü tasarlarken, bilgisayarı kullanıcının evdeki yaşam alanına koyup, işlerin yapılabildiği, fotoğraflarının gösterildiği, bilgisayar oyunlarının oynanabildiği ve her türlü eğlence içeriğinin paylaşılabildiği bir hale getirmeye çalışıyor.
